The energy of today comes from awareness. Most times in our daily lives, we believe that we are aware of what’s happening. This gives us a sense of control or stability: we know what’s going on and are able to navigate our way through the obstacles that may arise. Yet that is only the barest hint of what awareness encapsulates. True awareness is noticing the observer of these events, the quiet voice within. Connect with this part of yourself today and notice how your attention shifts.
The third eye chakra is the seat of our conscious mind, and while it grants us great power to see and understand, the mind can also stand in its own way. Traditional meditation is one way you can clear the path for the third eye’s indigo energy. Allowing your mind to become still, unfocused on the particular events of the changing world frees the energy of your third eye to connect with What-Is rather than what seems to be. A quiet mind bypasses the self-limiting beliefs and attitudes that can trap your third eye and allows you to see with clarity and compassion.
Take a comfortable seat, somewhere out in nature if possible. As you begin to breathe, allow your eyelids to drift slowly down until your eyes are closed. The natural flow of your breathing will be your guide. Feel the living air move through your body, but try not to name where the air is going. The sensation of your breath is the focal point of your awareness. Thoughts and emotions will arise, tempting distractions in your moment of peace. Wish them well and allow them to easily pass by, fading into the past. Awareness lies completely within the present. Do not fret if thoughts and feelings keep bubbling to the surface, that is natural. Just breathe. Breath until breathing is all there is.
“I am aware of the power of the mind, clearing away limiting thoughts makes spirit easy to find.“
