Today’s energy supports you taking steps to control any anxiety you are experiencing. You might be sensing a loss of control over your own life. Maybe you are being asked to confront things of which you are afraid. This anxiety might be manifesting in problems in your gut area, like stomach aches or acid reflux. Things are unsettled in your physical stomach and also in your gut responses to events, activities, and even people. Listen to your body. Follow your gut instincts.
Your sacral chakra holds the key to your gut health and your gut instincts. When this chakra is blocked you suffer both physical and mental discomfort. The physical and non-physical are so intertwined that when one is out of whack so to become the other. When you are allowing your mind to run wild with anxiety-producing thoughts you are overriding your gut instincts.
It’s important to work on calming your gut when you are having issues caused by a blocked sacral chakra. Today’s meditation is asking you to work with the Japanese concept of “shinrin-yoku,” or tree bathing. This meditation is most effective if you can actually go into a forest or grove of trees. If that’s not possible, pull up a photograph of a forest on your computer. Begin the meditation with a few deep cleansing breaths. Begin a slow walk among the trees. Allow their calming power to wash over you from above. Look up at the sky through their branches. Hear the sounds of nature that surround you. You might hear the rustling of a squirrel, hear the chirps of birds, listen to the sounds of the leaves blowing in the wind. Now stop and allow the serene sense of this place to wash over you. Feel the anxiety leaving you, descending into the ground below your feet. Stay as long as possible with this natural landscape. When the time feels right walk out of the forest.
“When I listen to my gut, my gut health greatly improves.”
