Today's Energy:

As the new year is upon us, today is a great day to reflect on the year that is coming to a close. Take an inventory of all of the things that happened and the things that didn’t happen that you either wished for or worried about. Take an account of the people who came into your life and the people who exited. While you don’t want to hold onto the past, it is important to look at what happened this year and how it caused you to grow.

Chakra Healing:

Reflect on all the emotions of this year through your sacral chakra. Your sacral chakra deals with self-reflection. As you look over the events of the past year, try to do so without judgment of good or bad. True, this is not an easy task, but when you begin to learn and then practice the ability to just look at things as “what is” instead of labeling them, you are on the path to living without judgement or regret. This will greatly enhance the ability of the energy of your sacral chakra flow unimpeded.

Mindfulness Meditation:

Sit quietly and take a few cleansing, centering breaths. If possible, hold an orange-colored stone such as amber or carnelian. Feel your body slowly sink into the surface on which you are sitting. Allow your shoulders to drop in a relaxed manner. Place your hands on the area just below your naval where your sacral chakra sits. Feel a brilliant ball of orange energy warming your fingertips. See the orange energy transform into an orange colored river. Notice a small boat waiting for you on the side of the river. Enter the boat and cast off. As the boat takes you down the river, notice the events of the closing year drift by you. Look at them, bless them, and ask them to move on. Don’t stop to dwell on any of the events. As they pass you, release them and whatever hurt or negativity they might have caused. Embrace any positivity about them and recognize how nurtured you were. See the sun beginning to set at the bend in the river. Feel the boat gliding itself back to the river bank. Step out of the boat and notice the water continue to flow, unimpeded. See the sun set on the year. Take a few final deep breaths to end this meditation. Return to normal consciousness and open our eyes.
