Today is an optimal day for resting. The energy is very supportive of downtime, of pausing. It is healthy to engage in self-care. Replace the to-do list with a to-be attitude. You’re earned the right to stop “doing” today and do not need to feel guilty about taking a sacred pause. Restoring your energy, especially after a period of busyness, is essential to your overall well being. Rest and active happen in cyclic waves and today is certainly an energy of restoration and relaxation. Remember this and don’t push yourself too hard.
When your root chakra is unbalanced you might find yourself uncomfortable with just “being.” Maybe look upon a lack of activity as frivolous or a waste of time. Do you view dreaming and pausing as being non-productive? To move the energy of your root chakra, focus on appreciating the value of rest. It is vital to your spiritual and physical health.
Today’s meditation is focused on your ability to relax and be still. Set an intention today to do as little as possible. Value relaxation. Resist moving from one activity to another. Be mindful today about how many directions you are pulled, how many mindless activities you engage in. This meditation will be done in savasana, or corpse pose. Set a timer for 5. Minutes and put on some quiet, soothing music. If available, put lavender essential oil on a cotton ball and place some on your breastbone and a wave the cotton ball under your nose. Darken the room. Lay flat on a floor or yoga mat. It’s not advised to do this pose on a bed or sofa as you might fall asleep. Close your eyes. Let your body go limp. Melt into the floor or pat. Take slow, deep breaths. If thoughts enter your mind just watch them float in and out. Don’t try to stop them but also don’t pay them any attention. When the timer goes off, slowly open your eyes. Allow your body to awaken. When you feel ready, slowly sit up.
“Today I give myself permission to rest and rejuvenate.”
