It’s often said that the kitchen is the heart of the home and rightly so, it’s connected to your heart chakra. It’s the place where we nourish our bodies through cooking, but also nourish our spirit for it is most often the place where friends and family congregate when they come to visit. So it’s important to maintain a clean and clear kitchen area so that good energy comes forward and is not impaired by clutter.
The kitchen of your living space is aligned with your heart chakra. Make every effort to keep this space open, where you’re able to cook in peace and welcome friends and family. Allow the love that is in your heart chakra pour into your food as you prepare and cook it. Allow the love that you feel for friends and family be reflected in the food that you prepare for them. Let conversation and laughter abound. If you feel your heart chakra is blocked and that a lot of emotional stuff is coming up in your life that you’re having to deal with, work on cleansing your kitchen
Make this meditative session an active one. Do a clean sweep of your kitchen by wiping down counters and sweeping the floor. Do the dishes. Bring in some fresh flowers or a candle to brighten the space, preferably ones that are green. If there’s a window, open it and allow fresh air to enter. If you feel that you need a lot of work on unblocking your heart chakra, do a deeper clean over the course of a few days. Empty out cabinets and the refrigerator and discard outdated food. Throw out broken crockery and dishes. If you’ve lifted with hand-me-downs for kitchen items buy a few new pieces as your budget permits. There are neighborhood sites that offer free items, go to the dollar store or thrift store. You’ll be amazed at how the energy of your kitchen changes – and correspondingly, so too your heart chakra.
“When I create a clear space in which to cook and nourish myself and friends, I allow the energy from the heart chakra to flow freely.”
