Today is a good day to listen. To truly open up to hear what people are saying, without prejudice, without interpreting, and yes, without taking it personally. While it is important to give your voice freedom, it is equally as important to develop the ability to truly listen to another person. When you achieve this state of balance, your relationships become harmonious. You gain the gift of perspective, which allows you to have conversations while maintaining a sense of detachment that opens you up to enlightenment. Listen to what others have to say and you will be surprised by how much you can learn.
Working on your throat chakra will enhance your communication abilities, including the ability to listen. The ability to listen respects the speaker addressing you. It lets you feel heard. Chanting is a great way of opening this chakra.
Find a comfortable position and close your eyes. Place your hand on your throat. Focus on a manta that has meaning for you. If you are unsure of what to say, begin talking without thinking. Allow the words to emerge, hear your voice. As you hear the words you are repeating, truly hear them; allow them to take residence in your body. This is what your inner voice is truly feeling. Now that you’ve discovered your mantra, repeat it silently as you focus on the energy of your throat chakra. Notice the blue energy opening up and swirling vividly as you repeat your manta. Inwardly chant in this meditation as long as you’d like. When you are ready, release your hands and open your eyes.
“I hear my inner voice and express it outwardly to create harmony.“
